XPERIA X1 is phone from the newly born X series of Sony Erricson. As a matter of fact X series is born by the launch of X. It’s a cute stylish and slim phone which is mostly known as x1 only. Its specialty is its arc slider design, interaction and multimedia anytime. In shape it is much the I-Mates from Apple. The XPERIA™ X1 lets you enjoy the convergence of communication and entertainment. It got full QWERYT lay out key board which makes typing E-Mails fast and easy. The XPERIA™ X1 is a premium mobile experience. Its operating system is Windows Mobile which makes easier to operate and handle. In February 2008 the announcement that the development of X1 is complete but still there is no release date announced for the phone.

The frequencies on which X1operates on 2G networks are GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and for 3G networks are HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100. The phone weighs 145 grams and its dimension is 110.5 x 52.6 x 17 mm (W X H X L). X1 got a 65k color touch TFT screen which in size is 3.0 inches and has a resolution of 800 X 480 pixels. The phone can play polyphonic and MP3 ring tones. One can also download from the internet in addition to the ring tones already installed in it. The option oh composer has also been added in the phone so one can make his own melodies. It is available in Solid Black and Steel Silver colors. That’s a very big and advanced feature of this new X1 phone. MicroSD transflash memory card can be attached to increase the memory of the phone. It got a 400 MB internal memory and 512 MB for multimedia and other storage. The new Sony Erricson phone has a 400 MB internal memory with a 256MB Random Access Memory RAM, 512MB storage memory and Qualcomm MSM7200 528MHz processor. X1 has Li-Po 1500 mAh (BST-41) which gives a talk time of 10 hours and a stand by time of 833 hours.

Talking about features X1 has a Mega Pixel or 2048 X 1536 pixels with auto focus, flash and video of QVGA @ 30 frames per seconds quality. It also has a secondary video call camera. It runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. It supports SMS, MMS, Email, Push E-Mail and Instant Messaging services. It got a WAP 2.0/HTML (IE), RSS feeds for internet browsing. It got a full QWERTY key board with optical joystick navigation support. Other important features are – Built-in GPS receiver A-GPS function, Java MIDP 2.0, FM radio with RDS, MP3/AAC/MPEG4 player, 3.5 mm audio jack, Pocket Office which supports Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, PDF format files, Track-ID music recognition, Picture editor/blogging, Organizer, T9 support, Built-in hands free and Voice memo/dial function. Data transfer is today’s essential need without which a multimedia mobile phone cant survive in the market and for a phone like X1 which has to compete blackberries, the new Nokia E series and I-phone it is must. When this phone will be released it will score record sales and is gonna give hard time to Blackberry and the Nokia E-Series.
