Rick Astley releases new single “Lights Out”

Rick Astley the popular British singer, songwriter and musician who retired in 1993 and made a comeback in 2007, has recently released a new single entitled “Lights Out”. This is Rick Astley’s first single to be released in the UK in a period of 17 years. The new single which was released in the UK in July is now also available on iTunes worldwide. The single has also been nominated as the “Record Of The Week” at BBC 2.
Rick Astley who is 44 now, is currently performing with other hit artists of the 80s in the “80s Rewind Festival” at Henley. Rick is also touring around the UK with comedian Peter Kay.
Being one of the most popular stars of the 80s, Rick comes across as a real down to earth guy, who has continued to sing throughout his life. He has been performing and touring with both old and new artists and musicians, and says he can appreciate the differences between then and now. He likes all the technology that’s involved in today’s music scene but maintains that you need an artist to really make a good song.
Rick Astley is the winner of a BRIT Award and is most popular for his 1987 hit single “Never Gonna Give You Up”, which was a #1 hit in 25 different countries. He also holds the record of having his first 8 singles rank on the Top 10 charts in the UK. The only male artist in Britain to hold this record. To date he has also sold approximately 40 million records internationally.
