Rapper T.I. arrested for drugs possession

Rapper T.I. was arrested Wednesday night, on Sunset Boulevard, after drugs were found in his car. His wife who was with him at the time was also arrested. Police report that they smelled marijuana coming from their car. The car, which was a Maybach, was originally stopped for making an illegal U-turn. The 29 year old, Grammy award winning rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr. was arrested with Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, whom he recently married in a secret wedding ceremony. The police booked him on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

It is still not clear what exact controlled substance was found in the car, there are conflicting reports. Some sources say they were consuming “Sizzurp”, which is a form of liquor containing codeine. This kind of drug has recently become really popular in the hip hop community in the south, and also a big problem for them.

T.I. and wife were later released from jail after paying a sum of $10,000 as bail. He is scheduled for a court appearance on Friday. The rapper is currently on parole, and has been arrested many times before on charges of possession of drugs and weapons, including machine guns and silencers. This recent arrest can prove to be a violation of his current parole, and he can end up going back to jail.

T.I. also recently acted in the Hollywood bank robbery thriller, “Takers” alongside Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Matt Dillon. “Takers” was released on 27^th August 2010.
