Disney/Pixar launch, “World of Cars online”

Recently Disney Interactive officially launched a Cars online community targeted at kids. The online community known as “World of Cars online” includes games, interactive activities, etc and is based on the popular animated comedy movie Cars, which was released in 2006 and was a fabulous hit.

The movie was made by Pixar studios and was the last movie they made as an independent company before being bought by Disney. The movie Cars has won the inaugural Golden Globe Award and the Annie Award for best animated film, in 2006.

Disney and Pixar also held a launch event in support for the new online virtual world of Cars. The online community includes a game for the kids, which gives the kids the chance to make their own customized cars and then race them with the popular characters from the film, including Lightning McQueen, Mater and Sally. This is Disney’s fifth release of an online community of this nature.

The launch event itself was full of fun and entertainment. Lots of celebrity guests including cast members from the Cars movie were present. Life-sized replicas of Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Sally were present for the attendants to take photographs with.

World of Cars Online will specially appeal to children of ages 6 to 12, particularly boys. It provides the children with games as well as on-line community activities in which they can participate with their friends and other kids.

Creating your own car, with a large choice of modifications and upgrades available.

Meet the movie characters from “Cars” and go on unique adventures with them.

Meet, chat and play with your friends online as well as make new friends in the World of Cars. Kids can also race with each other on the different tracks that appear in the online world.

Kids can explore and have fun in Radiator Springs on their own.

Players can start a racing career and try to become the next Piston Cup Champ. Kids start from local dirt tracks and win races to move up to the national circuit level.

Users of the online community can also build yards and custom race tracks and invite their friends to visit.
