Apparently a bush fire which started at approximately 10a.m. on Monday, got fueled into an out of control widespread sweeping wildfire by high winds. The fire ended up destroying a lot of property including even a fire truck. Although no human casualties have been reported, hundreds had been evacuated to keep safe from the fire in the morning and had been sent to a recreation center which is serving as a makeshift shelter for families. A similar shelter has also been created especially for the pets.
Other residents of the area had been advised to move to evacuation centers established at North Boulder Recreation Center and the Nederland Community Center.
While many of the residents are being evacuated thousands of residents left Boulder County to visit the nearby casinos to enjoy their Labor Day holiday. Of prominence has been Black Hawk Casino’s Ameristar Casino Resort. Colorado Casinos are popular with travelers due to being located in beautiful places and having the games available. It has been a great day for Ameristar due to the large number of people pouring into the casino.
Firefighters continue their efforts to contain the wild fire. The cause of the fire is also still under investigation. It’s reported it could be days before the fire is put out completely. High winds had also spread the wildfires to Oklahoma, effecting almost 300 acres in the Woodward County.
